I aim to make my practice as accessible as possible. Here is some accessibility information, but please let me know if you have any other access needs.
My counselling room is up a flight of 13 stairs. We can also meet on Zoom (or use a combination of in person and online – for example, if you have a fluctuating condition that can make it hard to leave home).
There is free parking on my road and usually a free space directly outside or very nearby.
I use a lamp to light the room but have an overhead light if you need greater visibility. I keep the room at about 20C in winter, with the option to have the windows open for ventilation (with blankets and a hot water bottle if necessary!). I’m happy to adjust the lighting and heating to meet your needs.
My chair is 64cm deep by 60cm wide and has arms. I also have a dining room chair which is smaller but has no arms. Some clients prefer to sit on the floor, and I have a yoga mat, pillows and bolsters you can use to make yourself comfortable.
I have a selection of fidget/stim toys as well as a small weighted blanket.
In my working agreement, I ask for 48 hours’ notice of any cancellations. However, if you have a long-term health condition or disability, I don’t expect you to pay for sessions you can’t attend because of fatigue, pain, the effects of hot weather, or a last-minute medical appointment, for example.
